Additional Event Details:

Description:
This casual-yet-rich in-person seminar is built around three video clips (Level I, II, and III suitability) to promote thoughtful discussion, analysis, and shared insights. Participants gather in a relaxed setting--complete with coffee and donuts--to deepen their movement analysis skills while watching, discussing, and deconstructing skier performance in a supportive group environment.
Not everyone is required to present--ideal for those who learn best by listening, observing, and contributing when inspired.

Prerequisites:
Open to all instructors. Content is tailored to match certification levels I through III.

Outcomes:

  • Expand vocabulary and precision in describing rider performance.

  • Learn from peers across levels of experience.

  • Practice applying the Skills Concept and Alpine Fundamentals across certification levels.

  • Grow confidence in group discussions about skiing performance.

Experiences:

  • Review and discuss three curated skier videos representing different certification standards.

  • Collaborative analysis led by a facilitator.

  • Optional presentation opportunities for participants.

  • Insightful examiner-led debriefs on analysis approach and observations.

Intensity and Terrain:
Low physical intensity. Indoor setting.

Task Examples:

  • Small group brainstorm: "What did you see?"

  • Mini-presentations: Participants volunteer to deliver an informal M.A.

  • Facilitated discussion on cue-based vs. outcome-based observations.

Target Audience:
Instructors at any stage of certification. Great for those looking to engage with the material without the pressure to perform live M.A.
