Course Description:

Technical Skills Clinic, 1 Full Day, On-Snow. Qualifies as Assessment Prep Clinic or Continuing Education

Assessment Prep Goal:

Identify and prioritize individual technical awareness and improvements necessary to prepare for the Level 1 Ski Assessment by utilizing peer movement analysis in the beginner/novice zone. Level I instructors are competent in beginner and intermediate terrain, apply the Technical Fundamentals to demonstrate techniques and tactics to their students. MA practice will focus on identification of ski and body performance, their cause-and-effect relationships, and effective prescriptions, utilizing peer observations.


Clinic Outcomes: By the end of the clinic, participants will be able to:

  • Define ideal skier performance as it relates to an intended outcome.
  • Demonstrate accurate observations of ski and body performance within any single skiing Technical Fundamental in a specific phase of the turn.
  • Articulate accurate cause-and-effect relationship between ski and body performance.
  • Offer a relevant prescription for change for skiers in the beginner/novice zone.
  • Understand their personal performance compared to the Level 1 Standard & possess tools that support independent practice.

*THIS COURSE IS REQUIRED if you are not affiliated with a ski & snowboard school or have not gone through a new hire training clinic at a Snowsports School.
