Course Description:
Adaptive Snowboard Level 1 Stand Up
This is a one-day module assessment in which candidates are verified in their riding skills related to adaptive lessons, teaching, medical, and technical knowledge. Candidates must show competent use of specialized adaptive equipment relative to students who are able to stand up snowboard but may require adaptive tools and techniques to snowboard.
Please bring with you to the exam a completed copy of the Adaptive Level 1 Stand Up quiz found here.
Hit the books now before we all hit the snow. A great place to start is with our current national publications such as the PSIA Adaptive Alpine Manual, PSIA Alpine Adaptive Instruction Supplement: Diagnoses and Medication Classifications, AASI Snowboard Technical Manual, and the Snowsports Teaching Manual for Snowsports Instructors. Digital versions are available for free at Digital Manuals. Please spend time reviewing the educational resources available on the Adaptive Snowboard Reference Materials section of the PSIA-RM website.
