Course Name: Movement Analysis 201
Discipline: Alpine
Time: 2 Days (12 credits)
Terrain: Beginner - Advanced Terrain in all conditions
Like a tasty milkshake, the fundamentals are better when blended! At Alpine Movement Analysis 201, you will learn the recipe for blending the fundamentals together at the next level to construct effective prescriptions for change in students through the advanced zone. You'll work on accurately describing performance relative to the alpine fundamentals in blended relationships through multiple turn phases, and from turn to turn. You will then prescribe specific changes in the blend of fundamentals using duration, intensity, rate, and timing to create a desired outcome. Through activities that may include observations of the general public, peer-to-peer activities, and video analysis, you'll practice articulating blended cause-and-effect relationships of all skiing fundamentals through all phases of the turn.
Prerequisites: Current PSIA-AASI Membership, Level 2 Certification
Suggested preparation:
· A fitness level that will allow for two full days of skiing on any terrain
· Review Chapter 6 (Movement Analysis) of the Alpine Technical Manual
