National Academy Kicks Off Today at Big Sky
National Academy is off and carving at Montana’s Big Sky Resort today, with on-snow clinics, indoor electives, boot-fitting appointments, and, for the first time ever, the opportunity for attendees to hone their skills on PSIA-AASI Official Supplier SkyTech’s Ski Simulator.
Follow the action on PSIA-AASI’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
With about 500 instructors and official suppliers scheduled to attend – especially as Rider Rally, Adaptive Academy, and Telemark Academy begin on Wednesday – PSIA Alpine Team Coach Michael Rogan said, “It’s great that we have this opportunity to be able to spend time together.”
Michael said that while PSIA-AASI made a concentrated effort to use online webinars, Zoom, and Google Meets to keep teaching and learning during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, “This season we’ve all had the opportunity to attend more clinics, travel to more events, and really get back to that person-to-person teaching that makes us ski and snowboard instructors.”
He added that having the backdrop of Big Sky during the ongoing celebration of PSIA-AASI’s 60th anniversary makes the event that much more special. “I feel like if our founders could see what’s going on in our efforts to bring the divisions closer together, while we tip our hats to the work they did, they would tip their hats to work we are doing, too.”
Remember to mark your calendar and plan to watch the PSIA-AASI Awards & Recognition Ceremony 2022 – live from Big Sky, Montana, on Wednesday, April 20, at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Time (MDT).
