Sept. 24, 2024 — The Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) is actively seeking candidates interested in the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Based in Lakewood, Colo., (Denver metro area) PSIA-AASI is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit education association that develops education materials and certification standards for snowsports instructors. Founded in 1961, PSIA-AASI has more than 34,000 members, making it the world’s largest organization dedicated to skiing and snowboarding.

PSIA-AASI is working through significant positive changes and has several large-scale, exciting opportunities on the horizon. The organization is aligning its educational processes, preparing to host Interski back in America for the first time since 1968, strengthening its partnerships with PSIA-AASI regions, and working to enhance the member experience through the development and delivery of new and innovative benefits and services.

“We are looking for a leader who understands the member and members school needs and is eager to collaborate with our regional partners in providing the premier member experience. The next PSIA-AASI CEO is passionate about helping others, knows we can do more together than separately, and has a proven track record of working across multiple groups to collaboratively support the best association,” said John May, PSIA-AASI National Board member and the search committee chair.

To refine the skills, attributes, and experiences needed for the next CEO, the board undertook a nationwide collaborative effort by engaging key association stakeholders including national staff, regional boards and executives, the Education Leadership Council, National Team coaches, and members of both the Women’s Council for Equity and Inclusion and Equity and Inclusion Advisory Group.

Job description and application requirements may be found here. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 24, 2024, with interviews scheduled to begin Nov. 2, 2024. The organization intends to make an offer to the right candidate by the end of the year.
